
Chisinau, 12 JUly /MOLDPRES/- Construction-assembly works under the project Improving water supply services in Fălești, financed by the European Union are under development. Thanks to the project, over 15,000 people from Falesti will have access to safe drinking water.
So far, 54% of the work planned for the project has been completed. They are executed according to the schedule, local authorities claim.
Following the project, the water supply networks in Falesti will be expanded by 2.4 km and 2.6 km of supply networks will be built. The works to improve the water supply services in Falesti are to be completed by late 2021. The value of this contract is 35.88 million lei, of which 32.57 million lei is the financing of the European Union and 3.31 million lei - co-financing of Falesti city hall.
"The implementation of the project to improve water supply services in Falesti will contribute to modernizing the infrastructure for providing this service, increasing the connection rate and access to safe drinking water, thus improving the living conditions of citizens and maintaining their health ", the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) said.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by ADR North and the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova (MSPL). The MSPL project is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
