
Representatives from six countries to participate in international conference on reading in Moldova
Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives from Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova will participate in the third issue of the International Conference titled, Reading as basis for culture, knowledge and development. The event is organized within National Programme, LecturaCentral (ReadingCentral), due at the National Library on 30 September.
According to the organizers, the event’s goal is to orient and mobilize the efforts of libraries, education institutions, creation organizations, communities and competent factors as to the development of the reading, competences of culture of reading/information as foundation for the ascendant knowledge. At the first two issues, the conference had participants from the USA, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Romania and Ukraine.
The works, which conspicuously show the novel experiences, impact activities for the promotion of reading and developing the reading’s culture, are to be inserted in the third volume of the work, Lectura și scările (The Reading and Stairs) – a collection of articles edited annually. The first volume appeared with the support of the Culture Ministry within the Programme on Editing the National Book.
The conference will be held online.
The National Programme, LecturaCentral (ReadingCentral) (PNLC) is carried out annually and is backed by the Culture Ministry within the Cultural Projects Programme. The goal of PNLC is to optimize the interest in books, develop the citizens’ culture of reading and enhance the interest in the phenomenon of reading.
