Energocom company of Moldova purchases electricity at price of 109 Euros/MWh in last June
The Energocom stock company in last June acquired about 301 thousand MWh of electricity at a weighted average price of 109.92 euros/MWh. The consumption was covered from both domestic sources and imports.
For comparison, in May 2025, the Energocom stock company purchased about 318 thousand MWh of electricity at a weighted average price of 106.60 euros/MWh.
According to Energocom, in June, most volume – 70.65 per cent – was covered through imports, while domestic producers supplied 29.35 per cent.
As much 4.53 per cent of the imported energy was acquired from Romania at a preferential price. At the same time, 43.31 per cent was bought under bilateral contracts with external suppliers and producers, and 22.81 per cent - through OPCOM and BRM (Romanian Commodity Exchange) exchanges.
Inside the country, the power plants from Chisinau and Balti delivered 5,434 thousand MWh, accounting for 1.8 per cent of total acquisitions, while energy from renewable sources totaled around 88,464 thousand MWh, equivalent to 27.55 per cent.
Energocom specified that the aforementioned purchase price did not include costs related to transportation, logistics or delivery capacity reservation.
As of January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dniester River has no longer been receiving electricity from the Kuchurgan Power Plant after the Russian conglomerate Gazprom ceased natural gas deliveries to Moldova. Under these conditions, consumption is covered by domestic sources and imports.
