
South-east Moldova district receives over 380 million lei as government's investments in last four years
The south-eastern Causeni district has received over 380 million lei as government’s investments over the past four years. Development projects launched today were discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and mayors from those 48 settlements of this district. The PM assured that investments would continue, ‘’so that citizens can feel the support of the state and the benefits of a European Moldova.’’
‘’Moldova is on the right development path. Thanks to this direction, the Causeni district has received over 380 million lei in investments from the government in the past four years. We spoke with the mayors from the 48 localities the development projects carried out. We all agree that these projects must continue,’’ said Dorin Recean.
Thus, 20 km of water supply pipelines, 20 km of sewage networks, a pumping station, and a wastewater treatment plant were constructed in the Causeni district, through the European Village programme. The wastewater treatment plant and sewage system, benefiting the city of Causeni and ten other localities of the district, were commissioned last month. At the same time, works are planned in another 12 settlements, which will receive water supply and sewage systems.
Roads of the district will receive 251 million lei for renovation this year.
The medical system of the district benefited from 54 million lei. The Causeni District Hospital was endowed with state-of-the-art modern equipment, and a primary center for patients who suffered a stroke was inaugurated. More units of the hospital's Emergency Reception and maternity departments were renovated and equipped. A Colposcopy Center was inaugurated, and with external partners' support, the Causeni District Hospital was also equipped with photovoltaic panels.
‘’Five schools and six kindergartens were endowed with equipment, furniture and teaching materials. Seven schools will receive funding for repairing sanitary blocks and the Mihai Eminescu Theoretical Lyceum will be modernized and become a model school,’’ said Dorin Recean.
Additionally, one of Moldova's most valuable church architectural works, the Assumption of the Mother of God Church, was renovated with a financial grant of 1 million dollars on behalf of the U.S. Government.
At the same time, 647 families of the Causeni district have used EcoVouchers to purchase refrigerators or washing machines and 11 individual homes have benefited from financial aid for installing energy-saving technologies.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean assured that investments would continue, ‘’so citizens can feel the support of the state and the benefits of a European Moldova.’’
‘’These are projects awaited by people for decades, bringing comfort, better services and a safe future here at home. We will continue to invest in each settlement, so citizens can feel the support of the state and the benefits of a European Moldova,’’ added Dorin Recean.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean is visiting the Causeni district today. The agenda includes discussions with district leadership, mayors, councilors and representatives of decentralized services. At the same time, the official will visit two businesses in the city of Causeni and the village of Taraclia. The PM will also speak with citizens from the village of Cirnateni and inspect more projects carried out with the government's help, including: the renovated building of the Grigore Grigoriu Theoretical Lyceum of Arts, the arrangement of access roads to the Andries Children's Kindergarten and the renovation of the Community Centre’s building.
Additionally, Prime Minister Dorin Recean will inspect the progress of repairs on the road segment and the renovated railway portion between the city of Causeni and the Zaim settlement.
