
As many as 556,000 ballot papers printed for presidential polls for Moldovan citizens from Diaspora
Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today established the number of copies of ballot papers for the polling stations from abroad, at the elections for the office of Moldova’s president, due on 1 November 2020.
According to the CEC’s press service, as many as 556,000 ballot papers will be printed to this end in all; a number of 467,600 of these papers will be in Romanian and 88,400 – in Russian.
Under the provisions of the Electoral Code, the ballot papers printed are sent to the electoral bureaus of the polling stations set up outside Moldova by 3 days ahead of the election day at the latest, proceeding from the estimated number of voters established based on the information unveiled by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry and the one collected by CEC, but no more than 5,000 ballot papers for each polling station.
As many as 139 polling stations were set up abroad for the presidential elections due on 1 November 2020.
