The Government spokesperson, Daniel Voda, today made statements to this effect, in the context of the organization of the Moldova – EU Summit in the Moldovan capital on next Friday.
Daniel Voda said that Moldova is now at the most advanced stage of European integration in its modern history. According to him, in the last three and a half years, the path towards the EU has become clear, irreversible and politically embraced at the highest level.

According to him, the event also marks a symbolic premiere - for the first time, EU leaders are coming together in Chisinau, in order to discuss with the country’s leaders the common future of Moldova in the European Union.
The event will take place at the State Residence, under the auspices of President Maia Sandu. President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean will participate in the summit on behalf of Moldova. President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will participate on behalf of the European Union.
“The organization of this summit in Moldova places us among the key partners of the European Union. The event shows that the direction is the right one. Moldova is taken seriously as a candidate state, as a reliable neighbor and as a country engaged in reforms. At the same time, it shows that the European Union is investing in Moldova with political support, financial aid and efforts to help the people of our country,” said Daniel Voda.
Among the topics discussed at the event, there will be Moldova's accession to the European Union and the next steps, the implementation of the 1.9-billion-euros-worth Growth Plan, the most ambitious financial package ever provided to Moldova, cooperation and investments in infrastructure, energy, digitalization, education, social protection and regional development.
“The July 4 Summit is a declaration of confidence. Europe is coming to Chisinau, as Moldova delivers concrete results and is on the path of transformation. Accession to the EU is not just a destination; it is a transformation for the benefit of the people and Moldova is on the right track,” emphasized Daniel Voda.
The summit will start at 17:00 and will include bilateral discussions, followed by a joint press conference by officials at the State Residence, scheduled for 19:00. The Summit's proceedings are expected to conclude around 19:45.
