Foreign affairs minister says Moldova relies on European Parliament's support for opening negotiation clusters

Moldova relies on the European Parliament's support in its EU accession process, particularly for opening the six negotiation clusters. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi has made statements to this effect during a meeting with Vice-President of the European Parliament Nicolae Stefanuta, on a working visit to Chisinau.

During the discussions, the officials reviewed the progress made by Moldovan authorities in the European integration process.

The Moldovan diplomacy head thanked the European Parliament for the recently adopted resolution, which reaffirmed the institution's support for Moldova's European path.

At the same time, Mihai Popsoi appreciated the constant financial assistance on behalf of the European Union, as well as the support for strengthening internal resilience, including through the EU Growth Plan for Moldova.

Another point of the meeting was the organization of the parliamentary elections due on September 28, which Mihai Popsoi described as a decisive test for the country's democratic future. The minister emphasized that the elections’ results would directly influence the continuity and pace of the European integration process.
