Driver's licenses issued in Moldova, Ireland to be mutually recognized

The driver's licenses issued by the authorities Moldova and Ireland will be mutually recognized in the territories of both countries. The government has approved the initiation of negotiations on an Agreement to this effect.

The agreement is aimed at supporting Moldovan citizens settled in Ireland, who will be able to exchange their driver's licenses without taking theoretical or practical tests. The same conditions will apply in Moldova for holders of driving licenses issued by Irish authorities.

This will facilitate road traffic between the two countries and strengthen Moldovan-Irish relations in the fields of transportation, road safety and internal affairs.

Moldova has similar agreements with Latvia, Spain, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Albania and Lithuania. An agreement with France has been initialed and is to enter into force and there is a joint declaration of intent between Moldova and Germany on the matter.
