
Moldovan president sums up results of visit to Paris
Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today held a news conference, during which she summed up the results of her visit to Paris. Sandu noted that, in the capital of France, she had discussed with more officials, investors and had a meeting with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
The head of state said that, among the subjects tackled in Paris, there had been the re-launch of the bilateral cooperation, combating corruption, justice reform and the pandemic situation.
„I had good discussions in France, I discussed with investors and President Macron. I talked with him about the geopolitical situation, Moldova’s opportunities and approached the possibility of getting new doses of anti-Covid vaccine. I also discussed the Transnistrian conflict, as well as the progress made by Moldova in the process of association with EU,’’ Sandu said.
The Moldovan president also said that, at the visit, she had been informed that France was set to include Moldova in the list of countries eligible for the assistance of the French Development Agency and in next March, a mission of this agency will come to Chisinau. At the same time, the negotiations on the avoidance of double taxation were finished.
The head of state specified that she had asked the French leadership for help to get consignments of vaccine, additionally to the doses due to be provided for free by Romania through the COVAX platform.
President Maia Sandu paid a visit to France on 3-4 February. During the visit, she had a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as with other high-ranking officials of France.
