Speaker at meeting with U.S. senators: U.S. support for Moldova continues to be important

Speaker Igor Grosu held a meeting with U.S. senators visiting Chișinău, including Jeanne Shaheen, Chris Coons, Richard Blumenthal and Sheldon Whitehouse. The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Moldova and the United States.

The official expressed gratitude for the concrete support provided by the United States, noting the non-reimbursable funding of 130 million dollars for the construction of Strășeni–Gutinaș power line, as well as the additional contribution of over 36 million dollars to increase the country’s energy resilience.

At the same time, Grosu reiterated Moldova’s commitment to the accession to the European Union, emphasizing that the country will continue to rely on the support of international partners in order to achieve the strategic goal.
