Crossing through Tudora-Starokazacie border point to Belgorod-Dnestrovsk allowed for all travelers

The crossing through the Tudora-Starokazacie border crossing point (BCP) to Belgorod-Dnestrovsk, Ukraine, is permitted for all travelers without restrictions. However, in the direction of the Odesa region, the crossing is authorized only for Ukrainian citizens and vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons.

According to the Border Police, a temporary pontoon bridge over the Dniester River has been set up near the town of Maiaki in Ukraine, allowing for crossing.

Thus, through the Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe BCP, the exit from Moldova only permitted only for Ukrainian citizens heading to Odesa and vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons.

Under these conditions, the Border Police recommend that citizens refrain from traveling in this direction.

The border crossing points with Ukraine: Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe and Tudora–Starokazacie were closed on December 18, after explosive-laden had drones struck the bridge over the Dniester, located outside the town of Maiaki–Udobnoe in Ukraine at about 16:00. After four and a half hours, the two crossing points were reopened for travelers crossing the border towards Ukraine.

Today morning, the border authority said that the crossing of the Maiaki-Udobnoe bridge had been suspended following a new drone attack. Later, traffic on the bridge was partially resumed, allowing passage for all types of vehicles, except for trucks. After a few hours, the crossing of the Maiaki-Udobnoe bridge was again suspended due to another drone attack.

In these conditions, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), jointly with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), provided accommodation for Ukrainian citizens whose travel to Ukraine was restricted due to the bridge bombing over the Dniester. The IGSU operationalized a mobile camp in the town of Palanca, in order to support people who chose to wait to cross the border towards Ukraine through the Palanca and Tudora crossing points.

For updated information regarding the traffic situation and any other details, travelers can consult the official page of the Border Police or call the Green Line: +373 22 259 717.
