The project through which specialized transport for the collection and transportation of household waste was purchased was funded by the state, with resources of the National Environmental Fund.

Thus, waste from over 2,450 households and 125 economic agents of this settlement will be evacuated and recycled properly.

Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu participated in the event of receiving the transport, alongside representatives of local public authorities.

Cojusna mayor Igor Craciun emphasized, that among the project beneficiaries, there were the two kindergartens from the settlement, the lyceum, the art school, the community centre, the hospital and other social institutions. The value of the grant allocated from budgetary sources for acquiring the specialized transport is about 1.37 million lei, with the beneficiary contributing about 137,000 lei.

An Information and Citizen Services Center has been recently inaugurated in Cojusna, in collaboration with and supported by international partners.

“I am happy to see how our settlements are transforming and modernizing. In just the last two years, Cojusna also benefited from investments worth about five million lei through the National European Village Program. The money was used to modernize infrastructure and improve public services, bringing benefits to the about seven thousand residents of the village,” said Igor Grosu.

Subsequently, speaker had a discussion with two economic agents of the settlement  on the cooperation of the business environment with state institutions and  legislative changes to improve the business climate in the country.

Sergiu Boșcăneanu manages a plum orchard and 14 hectares of vineyards. To overcome the consequences of climate change, the entrepreneur set rain protective film to achieve quality grapes and high yields, as well as a high-performance irrigation system.

The entrepreneur benefited from financial support from the state for establishing the plantation and subsidies for the irrigation system. Also, the entrepreneur acquired a refrigeration installation and a grape packaging line, a business financially supported by the government of Moldova through the ODA. The grapes are exported to Romania, Belgium and Germany.

At the Cojusna Winery, Igor Grosu discussed with the owner of the company, Grigore Panus, the challenges in the wine sector, as well as the achievements of wine producers from Moldova. Currently, the company owns over 200 hectares of vineyards with local and European varieties, two processing cellars and an impressive capacity for storing collection wines. Chateau Cojușna is one of the largest wine and cognac producers and exporters from Moldova, with over 30 years of tradition in the field.
