Moldovan president writes Ukraine needs more support
President Maia Sandu has conveyed a message on platform X, after the capital of Ukraine was once again targeted by Russian missile attacks. The head of state called for more substantial support on behalf of the international community.
"Kyiv was hit again by Russian missiles. Ukraine is fighting for freedom and peace – for all of us," wrote the head of state.
Maia Sandu pointed out that, although heroically resisting the Russian invasion, Ukraine often remains alone in its fight against the "empire of evil." In the context, the Moldovan president reiterated the need for stronger support from the international community.
"Ukraine needs more air defense, stronger support. Supporting Ukraine means protecting peace in Europe and beyond," Sandu added.
Kyiv was massively attacked last night. Russia launched over 500 drones on Ukraine. Following the attack, one person was killed and 26 were injured. The Ukrainian army said that its air defense units had shot down 270 drones, while another 208 were lost. The Ukrainian air defense also shot down two cruise missiles.
The air raid alarms lasted eight hours and ceased as late as at 5 a.m.
