Moldovan president says country to pay less for banking transactions with Europe as of next October, to fully remove roaming tariffs by late 2025

The banking transactions between Moldova and the European Union will become cheaper as of next October and by the end of the year, the roaming charges for Moldovan citizens traveling or communicating to the European space will be fully removed. President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect at the end of the Moldova – European Union summit.

‘’All these efforts have a clear purpose: to bring the standard of living in Moldova to European standards – in each settlement, for every citizen,’’ said the head of state.

Maia Sandu emphasized that the European integration was not just a geopolitical project, but one that is expressed in tangible benefits for people, from modernized roads and equipped schools to lower invoices and more accessible services.

'If Poland, Lithuania and Romania have succeeded, we will succeed as well. We want a European Moldova and we will build it. If we are united and do not turn back, we will succeed,’’ added the president.

The announced measures are part of a broader package of economic and social integration of Moldova into European structures, actively supported by EU institutions and international partners.
