The 89 high school graduates who achieved the impressive feat of getting a perfect 10 (ten) average score at the national Baccalaureate exam today were celebrated at a festive event organized by the authorities, as a sign of recognition for their effort, hard work and perseverance.

"Thirteen years ago, when we started the fight against cheating at the Baccalaureate, we aimed to do justice for the students who study. We wanted to send a very clear message: hard work matters, hard work is appreciated. You are the ones who can make this world more humane. We place our hopes in you and promise to stand by you on this nice way," the head of state said.

Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun also congratulated the young laureates, noting that their results represented an example for the entire educational system.

"This is one of the most beautiful events we organize annually. We have a record number of young people—89—who achieved a perfect score. You should know that you represent an example. We want as many students as possible who believe in honest work and in their own strength. This is the attitude we want to see throughout the country," the minister stated.

As many as 17,971 candidates participated in the Baccalaureate session: 11,445 from high schools, 3,842 from colleges and centers of excellence, 238 candidates from universities, 389 who applied externally, and 2,057 students who failed to pass all exams.
