ADR Nord to ensure implementation of national program on development of cities-poles of growth
Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/- The North Regional Development Agency (ADR) organized this week the first meeting on ensuring the implementation of the National Program for development of cities-growth poles in Moldova (2021-2027), with the participation of representatives of Soroca city hall.
Soroca mayor Lilia Pilipețchi and specialists of the local administration discussed with representatives of ADR Nord and consultants of the Agency for International Cooperation of Germany (GIZ) Moldova about the action plan on implementing the program this year.
ADR Nord will provide support to local public administrations in Soroca and Edinet municipalities in developing operational plans for implementing the Program at local level and provide information assistance in developing / updating strategic and urban documentation of beneficiary municipalities of the Program. The local authorities in the beneficiary municipalities are to submit in September -October project proposals to the ADR Nord, which will approve and include them in the Annual Financing Plan.
The official launch of the Program will take place by the end of this month, during a press conference organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, development institutions at the regional level and local public authorities in the beneficiary municipalities.
The program aims at the socio-economic development of six municipalities - regional centers in the Republic of Moldova, including the municipalities of Soroca and Edinet, in order to transform them into growth poles, able to support the expansion of development in neighboring rural areas and ensure employment. work so that the network of cities-poles of regional growth becomes attractive to residents, entrepreneurs and visitors.
The National Program for the development of cities-growth poles in Moldova, approved by the government in December 2020, was set up to ensure the implementation of the Law on approval of the National Regional Development Strategy for 2016-2020. The implementation of the Program will support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Republic of Moldova.
