Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the National Administration of Roads (ASD) today monitored the process of construction of the bypass road of the Comrat municipality, (Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia). This road is part of the M3 national road. The construction works were started in February 2019 and have been carried out at the level of over 40 per cent so far.
According to ASD, works of superstructure of bridges, laying and compacting the drainage layer are presently carried out on the road segment with a length of 18.2 km.
„The project, financed from the loan provided to Moldova’s government by the European Investment Bank (EIB), provides for the construction of the bypass road of the Comrat city with two traffic lanes, laying the asphalt concrete, building of six bridges and 12 small bridges, setting of more than 500 of traffic indicators and applying the respective road marking. The road’s construction will diminish the flow of transport, which presently crosses the city and creates inconveniences to citizens, will shorten the time for vehicles’ movement, thus providing an easy movement for the participants in the traffic,’’ the State Administration of Roads said.
The construction of bypass road, worth over 29 million euros, is scheduled to be finished by late January 2022.
