Romanian language textbooks distributed in kindergartens from Gagauz Autonomy
Children from the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia will study the Romanian language with new textbooks, edited with the support of the Education and Research Ministry (MEC) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Over 1,400 textbooks and 2,800 working notebooks for Romanian language will be distributed to 56 kindergartens of UTA Gagauzia.
The education resources will facilitate the process of learning the Romanian language for children from the Gagauz autonomy and will back the work of those 74 educators of Romanian language and 70 educators of Gagauz language in the early education institutions.
„We thank the OSCE Mission in Moldova for the support provided for the publication of these teaching materials. The ministry will continue making efforts to support the bilingual education in the region. We will continue developing new teaching materials, in order to diversity the ways of teaching and improve the quality of education in the kindergartens of the region,’’ Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said at a visit to one of the beneficiary kindergartens.
The education materials were worked out within the bilingual programme on the studying of the Romanian language and Gagauz language, implemented in the region in 2015.
The overall value of the project is of 253.46 thousand lei, of which 150,000 lei was allocated by MEC.
