Six settlements from north Moldova village to be connected to water main
Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - Construction and assembly works for a water main have started in north Moldova. The water main will ensure access to drinking water in six settlements and at a leisure camp through their connection to the Soroca-Balti water main. A technical meeting on the coordination of the works planned took place at the Soroca district council on 25 July.
According to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), the entrepreneur committed during 14 months, starting from July this year, to build the water main from the Voloave village to the settlements Alexandru cel Bun, Vasilcau, Racovat, Slobozia-Cremene, leisure camp for children La Dumbrava. ‘’More than 20,000 residents from those six settlements and the 1,500 children from the La Dumbrava camp will have access to the new water and sanitation supply system,’’ ADR Nord said.
The value of the construction contract is of 30.35 million lei (over 1.5 million euros), allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL). The contribution of the Soroca District Council and of the partner mayoralties is 10 per cent of the construction contract’s value.
This year, from FNDRL sources, ADR Nord implements in north Moldova six projects on water and sanitation supply (AAS), of which one implies the working out of a pre-feasibility study which regards 33 settlements from the districts of Donduseni, Soroca and Ocnita. One of those six investment measures in the AAS sector is also the project titled, Water – primordial need for a qualitative life in North Development Region, submitted by the Soroca district council within the Call on selection of regional development projects for the period 2021-2023.
