Testing methane-powered truck started in Balti
Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/- First special vehicle for waste disposal with an engine adapted for methane combustion was offered to communal enterprise from Bălți municipality. The car was brought to the country for a period of one year, under an agreement with the car manufacturer MAZ, the public relations service of Moldovagaz company has reported.
The project aims to demonstrate to local authorities ecological purity, operational safety and economic benefits of methane compared to other types of automotive fuels.
The new special vehicle will operate in Bălți for two months, after which it will be redirected to other localities in the country. "We intend to have preliminary negotiations with representatives of the management of Comrat, Hâncești and Orhei municipalities. Some of them have already shown interest in testing this vehicle on the spot," Transautogaz company director-general Alexander Chiseev said.
All operating costs related to testing methane special vehicle shall be borne by Transautogaz company in partnership with MAZ representative in Moldova.
