VIDEO // Moldova celebrated in Brussels; Moldovan president says support provided by all 27 EU states motivates country

The culture, traditions and people of Moldova, as well as the increasingly close connection between our country and the European Union have been celebrated at a unique event organized in Brussels. Attending the event were President Maia Sandu, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and other special guests and friends of Moldova.

In her message, President Maia Sandu thanked the European Union and the member states for the constant support provided to Moldova.

"The support offered by all 27 EU states motivates us. They have helped us overcome all challenges. Please, tell your colleagues and friends that Moldova is a reliable country. Tell them our story of resilience, how Moldovan wine emerged stronger after repeated bans imposed by Russia. A reminder that our resilience is deeply rooted in our soil and our people. And this is what we will take with us to the EU," declared Maia Sandu.

The event was organized by the Mission of Moldova in Brussels. Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov said that it had been a great opportunity to showcase the culture, traditions and people of Moldova, to show the world who Moldovans are and why they deserve to be part of the large European family.

"Moldova has hardworking and talented people, wines awarded with gold medals, dishes found nowhere else and a culture that makes us proud anywhere in the world. These are just some of the values that define us and with which we will enter the EU. (...) It was a great opportunity to highlight the culture, traditions and people of Moldova, to show the world who we are and why we deserve to be part of the large European family," emphasized Cristina Gherasimov.

The event took place on the day the European Commission presented the 2025 Enlargement Report, which notes that Moldova has made the most visible progress in the integration process, potentially allowing the opening of the next negotiation clusters by the end of this year.
