The Government is providing new updates on the situation caused by bad weather conditions. The responsible authorities continue to act in a coordinated manner to clear the roads and protect citizens’ safety.

According to data from the State Hydrometeorological Service, rainfall and dense fog is recorded across the entire country. Fog with visibility of 200 m or less will form over large areas. In this context, Yellow Code warning has been issued, valid from 28 January 1:00 p.m. to 29 January 1:00 p.m.

The carriageway of national and local roads has been treated with anti-skid material. So far, 84 special vehicles of the National Road Administration (AND) and 89 workers have intervened across the country, spreading about 549 tons of anti-skid material. Road traffic is taking place in winter conditions.

To prevent ice formation on the carriageway, maintenance operations have been carried out so far on approximately 70 road sections, both on major national arteries and on regional roads in the districts of Briceni, Nisporeni, Dubăsari, Drochia, Șoldănești, Călărași, Criuleni, Florești, Sănătăuca, Cimișlia, Căinari, Ștefan Vodă, Anenii Noi and Basarabeasca.

Chișinău International Airport is operating normally. The runways are cleared. Aircraft are landing and taking off without impediments.

According to information from Premier Energy and RED-NORD, on January 28, at 10:00 p.m., due to bad weather, 6 localities in 3 districts are partially disconnected from the electricity supply, affecting 1,691 consumers: Criuleni district – the villages of Rîșcova, Stețcani, Miclești, Ișnovăț; Dubăsari district – the village of Marcăuți; Orhei district – the village of Izvoare.
