Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry strengthens capacities: process of concluding international treaties analyzed at round table
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) today organized a round table titled, The Process of Concluding International Treaties – Challenges and Perspectives, which brought together officials from the central public authorities of Moldova. The event aimed to identify and analyze the most common difficulties encountered in the process of negotiating, signing and implementing international treaties.
In the context of boosting the European integration process and the significant increase in the number of international agreements concluded by Moldova, the meeting aimed to strengthen institutional capacities in the field of law of treaties.
The event was attended by over 30 representatives of public authorities. The discussions focused on the effective enforcement of the present regulatory framework, the use of relevant legal instruments and the identification of effective cooperation mechanisms internationally.
The participants were familiarized with the essential stages of the negotiation process of bilateral and multilateral treaties – from initiation and signing to entry into force and their effective enforcement.
The periodic organization of such training sessions shows the constant commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote good practices in legal diplomacy and to support the continuous professional development of public officials involved in managing international relations. These exercises have proven to be valuable tools for strengthening institutional capacities and reinforcing the rule of law state in the field of foreign affairs.
