Moldovan driving licenses to be recognized in Italy, Latvia
Moldovan citizens permanently residing in Italy and Latvia will be able to exchange their driving licenses without additional exams. Government has approved an Agreement with the Republic of Latvia and the signing of the Agreement with the Government of the Italian Republic.
The projects will facilitate the mobility of citizens, provide a clear and efficient legal framework for the conversion of driving licenses and strengthen bilateral relations in the transport and internal affairs. The same benefits will apply to Latvian and Italian citizens residing in our country.
“We continue to expand the list of countries with which we have signed such agreements,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The Republic of Moldova has signed agreements with Israel, Turkey, Albania, Spain, Lithuania and Greece. A similar document has been signed with France - it is to come into force. Additionally, a joint declaration of intent regarding the transcription of driving licenses has been signed with Germany. This means that driving licenses can be exchanged after passing the practical exam.
