President Maia Sandu today visited Mrs. Natalia Doga, the wife of the late composer Eugen Doga, in order to personally convey her condolences and discuss the legacy left by the Maestro—an artist who touched generations and brought Moldova's fame to the world.

During the discussion, the Moldovan president shared with Ms. Doga the intention to rename the Chisinau International Airport as Eugen Doga Airport. The idea was received with openness and Mrs. Natalia Doga expressed her support for this proposal.

"I urge the government to approve this decision as soon as possible, as a gesture of gratitude toward a genius who elevated Moldova's name worldwide," said the head of state.

The president also said that she would donate the Franz Josef Strauss award, worth 10,000 euros and provided by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, in order to support the preservation of the Maestro's musical works.

The Moldovan president emphasized that the Culture Ministry must come up with a clear and sustainable plan, in order to conserve Eugen Doga's work and make it accessible to future generations.
