Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has participated in the Salzburg Summit 2023, in Austria, where she gave a speech on the geopolitical changes in Europe and in region to which Moldova belongs. She also referred to how efforts can be joined, in order to strengthen the European community and the important role which including Moldova has in this respect, the presidential press service has reported.
„We are presently stronger than one year ago. This was possible, as instead of yielding, we raised, as people, as country. With the help of our friends and partners, we focused on the consolidation of our resilience, our democracy, on the reformation and modernization of institutions and, what’s more important, on our country project – accession to the European Union,’’ reads one of the messages conveyed by the head of state.
The Moldovan president touched upon the fact that Moldova’s governance was firmly engaged in fulfilling the commitments towards EU and its own citizens, such as the justice reform and cleaning the institutions of corruption. At the same time, the head of state noted that the Chisinau authorities diversified the energy resources, had restarted important projects on development of the infrastructure, opened and liberalized the country’s economy, so that Moldova becomes an as attractive as possible country for native and foreign investors.
Moldova’s accession to EU will be an investment in the democracy and the collective future in this space of peace called the European Union. Through our transformation as country, we transform, concomitantly, Europe as well.
