PM visited fruit and vegetable processing factory in Orhei
Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited Orhei factory of Orhei-Vit company, the largest fruit and vegetable processing company in the Republic of Moldova, celebrating 80 years of operation.
Recean congratulated the administration and the more than 1000 employees of the company on the anniversary, highlighting the achievements in the company's development.
"You have managed to elevate the company to the status of a national leader in the juice production industry, becoming also the largest exporter. Your competence and ability to overcome all crises over the years, to invest, and to contribute to the growth of the national economy are admirable."
Recean toured the factory, learning about the production and processing capacities, product range, as well as the challenges faced by the company in its operations.
The company's management specified that in the past year, it invested 1 million euros in a modern water filtration system, equipment modernization, and energy efficiency solutions, which reduced energy costs by 30%. The need for securing a larger volume of raw material was also mentioned, including through agreements with countries willing to supply products.
The company produces over 200 types of juices, nectars, fruit and vegetable purees, preserves, natural flavors, and more. Company's capacity allows for processing 100 million kg of natural raw material per season, with the largest volume dedicated to juice production—13 million liters annually.
