Moldovan speaker says: Whole generations grown with programmes broadcast by national television
Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, sent a congratulatory message on occasion of 60 years of activity of public TV channel: Moldova 1, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The SP said that "60 years ago, the first show on the first television in Moldova was broadcast at 19:00 hours. Commencing that day, whole generations have grown with films, shows and music broadcasts by national television. I remember grandparents proudly telling about the first TV in the village. I remember my parents and evenings when we stood stuck on television while we were fighting for independence, sovereignty and language."
According to the Speaker of Parliament, after six decades we have got over 50 TV channels in Moldova today.
"It is an evolution to which we need to adapt legislation. I asked mass media professionals to write laws they need and promote them to Parliament. I think together we will be able to make laws as to ensure production of programmes able to compete with foreign ones. I wish very much to have a free and authoritative press in society," said Andrian Candu.
The SP praised all the professionals which, during those 6 decades, have worked on national television. Andrian Candu thanked them for programmes and documentaries they produced over years and wished them much inspiration, courage and continued success.
Seven TV employees received Diplomas of the Parliament of Moldova for a substantial contribution to fair and equitable public info on events of parliamentary agenda and on the 60th anniversary of establishment of public TV channel Moldova 1. The distinctions were awarded to reporters: Ana Bejenaru, Oxana Mititelu and Vadim Cheptanaru, cameramen Daniel Cepraga and Grigore Rata, Dorina Iurcu and Ecaterina Stratan, head of TV channel Moldova 1.
The first TV programme in Moldova was broadcast on 30 April 1958 at 19:00.
