Deputy PM for reintegration pays tribute to participants in actions to defend independence, territorial integrity of Moldova
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri today took part in events marking the 34th anniversary of the tragic events of June 1992 on the Varnita–Tighina plateau, held in memory of those who had sacrificed their lives for the defense of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
Attending the commemorative ceremony were representatives of central and local public authorities, the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, the peacekeeping contingent of Moldova, as well as veterans of the armed conflict on the Dniester River. As a sign of gratitude and respect for the memory of the fallen heroes, the participants laid flowers at the Memorial Chapel and at the Grieving Mother monument.
