Prime Minister met with President of Slovenia
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with President of the Republic of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar. The discussions focused on Slovenia’s support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and on strengthening cooperation between the two states.
Munteanu appreciated Slovenia’s active role in developing bilateral relations and thanked the authorities in Ljubljana for the consistent support granted to the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration.
Munteanu emphasized the importance of capitalizing on Slovenia’s experience, a member state of the European Union since 1 May 2004, in the field of accession negotiations, institutional consolidation, and alignment with European standards. In this context, the interest in continuing the exchange of expertise in the field of European integration between the relevant institutions of the two states was reiterated.
The assistance provided by Slovenia through development projects in areas such as agriculture, support for entrepreneurship, and environmental protection was also appreciated. The parties discussed advancing cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as developing the bilateral legal framework in areas such as migration, social security, and culture.
Munteanu underlined the firm commitment of the Government to continue reforms and to advance on the path of European integration. Natasa Pirc Musar reconfirmed the support of the Republic of Slovenia for our country’s European agenda and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
