Government spokesperson warns about fake videos using public figures' images
Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă warned citizens today about several fake online videos using the images of public figures, including politicians and government members.
"Several video spots have been released recently that use the images of TV celebrities or politicians, including those from the government, offering or presenting quick gains for citizens. In such fake videos, created to deceive citizens, economic offers were presented through which individuals, by making small investments, could achieve high profits. Such videos where you see public figures, including politicians, shared on unknown pages or anonymous groups are fake and aim to deceive citizens," Daniel Vodă warned.
He urged citizens to be cautious about their information sources, to report such content, and to inform the police about such cases, so they can be investigated by law enforcement.
Daniel Vodă explained that all important announcements regarding governmental activities affecting citizens of the Republic of Moldova are made on official platforms.
"Do not believe in overnight gains or these scam schemes. Report them and inform other citizens not to believe in such fake platforms," concluded Daniel Vodă.
