Moldovan President to attend European Political Community Summit hosted by Albania
Head of State Maia Sandu will participate on 16 May in the sixth edition of the European Political Community Summit, which will take place in Tirana, Albania.
Maia Sandu will meet with European leaders, heads of state and government representatives to discuss the economic development of the Republic of Moldova, regional peace and security and joining the European Union.
The European Political Community was created at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron and represents a platform for political dialogue on peace and security on the continent, as well as cooperation between EU member states and those outside the community space. The inaugural Summit of the Community took place in Prague, in October 2022, and the second edition was hosted by our country in June 2023.
On 17 May in Tirana, Maia Sandu will have a bilateral meeting with President of Albania Bajram Begaj.
On 19 May, at the invitation of President Jakov Milatović, President Sandu will pay an official visit to Montenegro.
Albania and Montenegro, like the Republic of Moldova, are candidate countries for EU accession. The visits of the head of state will contribute to enhancing coordination and cooperation in the accession process through experience exchange and strengthening bilateral relations.
