Modern multipurpose hall to be built in center of Ungheni
A modern multipurpose hall and a park will be built in the center of Ungheni city. These will be developed on a three-hectare plot of land that has been transferred from the Ministry of Defense to the management of local authorities. Government made the decision today.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that this is a very important project for Ungheni city.
“Just like we helped other cities such as Chișinău or Bălți, now we are going to help Ungheni by transferring a plot of land located in the city center, which is opposite a school and currently houses a military unit. We will now transfer this land to the municipality and a European project will be implemented there for Ungheni residents. A modern multipurpose hall, social infrastructure and a park will be built,” said Recean at the cabinet meeting.
Secretary-General of Government Artur Mija said that the three-hectare land currently contains buildings that are no longer used for their intended purpose and are in a degraded state.
“In place of the former military unit, a multipurpose hall will be built, a park will be arranged, and social infrastructure will be developed for the citizens. As a result, the area will be modernized for the benefit of the community and will become more attractive for residents and visitors to the city,” concluded Artur Mija.
The municipality of Ungheni has a population of over 38,000 inhabitants and is the sixth largest city in the country and the largest in the Central Development Region.
