
Festival promoting culture of breeding animals takes place in south Moldova town
Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Dozens of breeders of sheep and goats have brought together in the southern Cimislia town, where a topic-related festival is traditionally held in late October. The goal of the event is to promote the branch and the culture of breeding these species of domestic animals.
At the 2023 year edition of the festival, the seventh one, the participants displayed their pedigree animals, the products processed got from the raw material, made exchanges of ideas and practices, as well as established cooperation relations both with economic agents of Moldova and from abroad.
Attending the event, a state secretary at the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA), Iurie Scripnic, stressed the importance of the festival for the animal husbandry sector. He reconfirmed the state’s support for the further development of prosperous businesses in the breeding of sheep and goats.
The official awarded money prizes to the farmers who managed to achieve performance in this branch. The prize-winners were selected by a commission made up of specialists from MAIA and the Scientific and Practical Institute of Biotechnologies in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.
Attending the festival were guests from Romania, Georgia, Armenia, Austria, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, with traditional customs and cuisines.
