Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/ - In the village of Telita, Anenii Noi district, a track for cyclists was laid out and modern sidewalks were built. The initiative was implemented as part of European Village program. The government supported the project with funding of 4.6 million lei (230 thousand euros), money allocated from the National Fund for Local Regional Development.
The cycle track offers an ecological and healthy way to practice physical activity and will facilitate connections between different areas of the town.
Modern sidewalks and public transport stations were built on a street in the locality, ensuring safe access to educational institutions and other important points in the community.
Telita mayor Rodica Rusu said that every third inhabitant of the village has a bicycle, and more and more villagers are giving up the car in favor of it.
The European Village program includes 497 projects. According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), 160 of them have already been completed.
