The hospitality industry of Moldova for the first time has celebrated excellence at the Moldova Hospitality Awards 2025 Gala. This is a landmark event that highlighted the potential of the HoReCa sector and its contribution to the country's economic and cultural development.

The Gala marks the official launch of the first and most extensive national competition dedicated to professionals in this field, organized by the National Association of Restaurants and Leisure Venues (MĂR), under the auspices of the  Culture Ministry.

"It is crucial to maintain a balance between creativity and education in the hospitality industry on one hand, and on the other hand, to preserve and capitalize on our cultural heritage, as it represents important resources for the country's tourism development. Congratulations to my colleagues for contributing to the economic development of Moldova," said State Secretary of the Culture Ministry Andrei Chistol.

The competition, featuring 21 categories and judged by over 30 experts, aims to promote excellence, innovation, culinary identity and sustainability. The event brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs, chefs, managers, suppliers, government representatives and international guests.

"This event is about recognition and leveraging the business environment we have in Moldova. In the hospitality sector, there is indeed a robust business environment, and we hope that by encouraging entrepreneurs through such events, we will contribute to even bigger growth. Among the event's guests, there are business people, especially restaurant owners. We also have officials who deliver messages in support of entrepreneurs and economic development. The year 2025 has been quite successful, but of course, entrepreneurs always seek even greater results," the head of the MĂR Association, Nicolae Hudic, told MOLDPRES.

For her part, the executive director of the MĂR Association, Olga Calmis, emphasized the need for the sector's continuous development:

"The today's event is a significant one for the HoReCa industry. As the host of this event, we aimed to organize this edition for the first time, because the hospitality industry deserves to evolve. It is a strategic branch for the country's economy, in a continual state of development. Moldova may not have seas or mountains, but it has other important values that we must promote and develop," said Olga Calmis.

The Moldova Hospitality Awards 2025 Gala concluded with the awarding of the best restaurants, cafes, hotels and professionals in the sector, marking a significant step in the professionalization and promotion of the HoReCa industry in Moldova.
