All consumers affected by 15–16 February glaze ice reconnected to power grid
Electricity distribution operators announce that all consumers who were cut off power following heavy frost during the night of 15 to 16 February were reconnected to the power grid yesterday. Technical teams worked to repair damage caused by the difficult weather conditions and restore power supply in the affected areas.
However, the authorities and energy operators warn that the risks have not disappeared. In the context of a new severe weather warning forecast for Tuesday evening and Wednesday, 18 February, when heavy precipitation and strong wind intensifications are expected, the population is urged to exercise maximum caution near power lines.
Specialists warn that strong winds and ice deposits can cause conductors to break or become loose on poles.
"Particular attention must be paid to power lines that have fallen to the ground or are hanging dangerously, as touching them can cause severe electric shocks. Parents are asked to talk to their children about electrical safety rules and the consequences of not following them, especially near schools, kindergartens, and playgrounds. If dangerous situations are observed — broken power lines on streets, in yards, or near public institutions — citizens must immediately notify the distribution operators and avoid approaching the area," the authorities recommend.
Reports can be made at: 022 43 11 11 – Premier Energy Distribution; +373 231 24 201 – RED Nord.
Operators urge the population to avoid any individual intervention on damaged electrical installations and to allow only specialized teams to intervene, in order to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
