Moldova, Japan strengthen economic cooperation: new investment opportunities at Moldova-Japan business forum
Over 50 entrepreneurs and investors from Moldova and Japan assembled at the Moldova-Japan Business Forum and bilateral meetings (B2B), held in Chisinau on October 25. The event aimed to strengthen bilateral economic relations and identify new investment opportunities.
Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said that the forum was an important platform for promoting Moldova's economic potential, innovations and the country's European path.
“We discussed Moldova's potential, innovation and our European path. Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding signed in August between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova and the one of Osaka, we have initiated active cooperation in key sectors,” the minister noted.
According to Doina Nistor, the areas targeted by this collaboration include information technology and digitalization, green energy and sustainability, the agri-food and wine industry, the automotive and components industry, as well as the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
The official emphasized that the partnership between Moldova and Japan opened a new stage of economic development.
“This cooperation opens for Moldova a new stage of economic development and a solid connection with Japan, based on trust, innovation and global perspectives,” Doina Nistor also said.
The Moldova-Japan Business Forum and bilateral meetings (B2B) represent a continuation of the visits by Moldovan delegations to Japan, conducted during the Osaka World Expo 2025, and provide a unique opportunity for Moldovan economic agents to establish direct contacts and develop collaborations with Japanese companies in various activity fields.
