Deputy Prime Minister's official visit to Riga: Dialogue with Latvian authorities and civil society

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is paying a working visit to Riga as part of the ongoing dialogue with the EU member states to support Moldova's advancement towards European integration.

During the visit, Cristina Gherasimov will have meetings with Latvia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže, Latvia's representative in the General Affairs Council of the EU Council Artjoms Ursulskis, as well as the head of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Ināra Mūrniece, and the head of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs, Edmunds Cepurītis.

“The dialogue with each EU member state is important for advancing Moldova's European path, as European integration is built on trust and cooperation between states,” said Cristina Gherasimov.

The official highlighted Latvia's transformation since its accession to the European Union 21 years ago, emphasizing that Moldova has much to learn from this country's experience in modernization and development.

Gherasimov will also have an open dialogue with representatives of civil society organizations in Latvia, discussing their role in supporting democracy and the European integration process.
