Prime Minister begins visit to Brussels
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu begins his two-day visit to Brussels. During this visit, he will hold meetings with several European officials, participate in the European Enlargement Forum, and deliver a speech at the European Business Summit.
Thus, the agenda of the visit includes meetings with the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, as well as with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
The discussions will focus on the reform agenda and the actions necessary for advancing the European path of the Republic of Moldova, announced the Government's Communication Department.
Munteanu will participate in the European Enlargement Forum, held on November 18, under the slogan "Through Union Enlargement, We Ensure Our Future". The Prime Minister will deliver a speech at the European Business Summit, marking its 25th anniversary. The event will provide a dialogue platform to identify the necessary solutions for the European Union to remain resilient, innovative, and competitive globally in the context of the geopolitical situation.
The official will conclude his visit to Brussels on November 18, with a meeting with Moldovan citizens residing in Belgium.
Munteanu's visit takes place after the beginning of November, when the European Commission presented the Annual Enlargement Report, which confirms the highest rate of progress for the Republic of Moldova since obtaining candidate status. According to the assessment, Chisinau has made progress in all 33 negotiation chapters, 19 of which have advanced to a higher level of preparation compared to the previous year.
This is the second foreign visit of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu since the inauguration of the new Government. The first visit took place on November 13, in Bucharest, where Munteanu held meetings with several officials.
