Moldovan government earmarks 1.27 million lei for construction of temporary roof and technical expertise of attic in Durlești residential block

The Commission for Emergency Situations has decided to allocate the necessary financial resources for the construction of a temporary roof and the technical expertise of the attic of the residential block in Durlești, which was affected following the fire that occurred on 16 May.

1.217.8 thousand lei will be allocated for the construction of the temporary roof and the removal of waste resulting from the fire. Additionally, 55.8 thousand lei will be earmarked for the technical expertise of the block's attic. The latter will provide a technical solution for the 16 apartments destroyed by the fire.

The financial resources will be allocated from the Government Intervention Fund to Durlești city hall, which will conclude a contract for technical expertise services with the State Service for Project and Construction Verification and Expertise.

The fire, which broke out in a residential block on Tudor Vladimirescu Street in Durlești city, completely destroyed 16 apartments located in the block's attic. Currently, investigations into the construction process of the building and the irregularities committed are underway.

In this context, Prime Minister Dorin Recean has requested the responsible authorities to thoroughly analyze all aspects at all stages of construction to identify where deviations were allowed and to eliminate corruption in the construction sector: "It is the state's responsibility to ensure compliance with the law in the field, to guarantee the safety of all those who buy apartments. We need functional institutions that can intervene and stop irregularities," said the Prime Minister.
