Moldovan PM has discussions with International Monetary Fund's team, led by Alina Iancu
The current priorities of the government and the importance of accelerating reforms aimed at supporting the economic development of Moldova have been discussed at the meeting of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and the International Monetary Fund’s team, led by Alina Iancu. IMF experts will be in Moldova on December 4-17, in order to analyze recent developments in the economy, prospects and macroeconomic risks.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that, at present, the government was pursuing more strategic goals: the relaunch of the national economy, the implementation of the European agenda and ensuring state security. To fulfill them, the cabinet has a clear plan to improve the investment climate, support small and medium enterprises, increase productivity and create new jobs. At the same time, actions related to fiscal and budgetary policy, anti-corruption, and the rule of law, as well as the continuation of judicial reform will continue.
The participants in the meeting reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen cooperation with the IMF, so that the measures taken contribute to improving the quality of life of Moldova’s citizens.
