605,538 households, meaning 1,216,000 citizens will benefit from heating compensation during cold season. More than half of the total number of beneficiaries will receive the maximum compensation value - 800 lei for solid fuels and 1,000 lei for other energy sources.

“The Meter Assistance Program is a program that supports retirees, people with disabilities, young people, children, and those with very low incomes. Besides this Program, we also have a long-term vision - we will continue the Eco Voucher and Green House programs which foresee replacing appliances and thermal insulation of buildings,” Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru said.

Most households will benefit from compensation for solid fuels - about 287,000, followed by natural gas, thermal energy, and electricity. Over 53% of households will receive maximum compensation. 23% will receive compensation between the minimum and maximum value, ranging between 500 and 1,000 lei, while 24% will receive minimum compensation of 500 lei. The amounts will be granted monthly throughout the entire heating season.

Individuals who have provided their bank or social card details in the application will receive payments today. Others can collect the granted amounts starting Monday, December 15, at post offices nationwide, presenting their identity card.

The process of submitting applications for November compensations concluded on November 28, but the registration process continues - household consumers can register for the government program on the platform compensatii.gov.md. For questions related to the registration process, the toll-free call center number 0 8000 5000 is available (Monday-Friday, from 08:00 to 18:00).

Eligibility criteria include the cumulative value of the shares in the properties owned by members, total income from dividends and bank interest, historical average consumption, household composition, personal status, and type of heating source.

Additional data verification measures in applications are the same as in the previous season. Data from the informational systems of several institutions will be verified: the State Tax Service, the National Social Insurance House, the National Council for Disability and Work Capacity Determination, Public Services Agency, energy providers, National Employment Agency, universities, and banking institutions. Based on this analysis, the system will calculate an individualized compensation for each household.
