Moldovan PM chairs meeting of Road Fund Council: 206 km of regional roads completed in 2025
The repair works for 206 km of regional roads have already been completed, and another 66 km of roads are to be rehabilitated by the end of this year. The report on the implementation of the programme on allocation of Road Fund’s resources allocation for national public roads, on the period January 1- October 31, 2025, was presented at the Road Fund Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
This year, through the Road Fund, the government allocated 1.21 billion lei for the repair of regional roads’ roadways - essential investments to improve the connectivity between villages and cities, enhance road safety and ensure travel comfort for thousands of citizens. Presently, the overall progress of these works is 93 per cent.
A total of 2 billion was allocated for works carried out starting from January 1 till October 31, 2025 - repair of regional roads, summer and winter maintenance works, periodic maintenance, major repairs of roads and bridges, as well as co-financing rehabilitation projects.
A specific topic of discussion was the preparation of national roads for the winter period. According to the National Roads’ Administration’s (AND) report, 466 units of machinery and road equipment will be engaged for the carrying out of winter maintenance works - snow removal and distribution of anti-skid materials on national public roads. Additionally, the quantities of anti-skid materials and technical salt, to be stored in the 39 district warehouses, have been verified.
At the same time, 50 video cameras are set on national roads for monitoring and visualizing traffic conditions during winter. At present, the AND manages 5,993 km of national roads, including 631 km of express roads, 2,011 km of republican roads and 3,350 km of regional roads.
