Moldovan president meets Ambassador of People's Republic of China
President Maia Sandu today met Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Yan Wenbin, on the occasion of the conclusion of his mandate in Moldova. The head of state thanked the diplomat for his contribution to deepening the Moldovan-Chinese relations, based on mutual respect, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed gratitude for the support provided to Moldova by the Beijing government. In the context, the Moldovan president highlighted the construction of the largest photovoltaic park in Moldova, in Criuleni – a Chinese investment worth four million euros.
Maia Sandu emphasized Moldova's interest in expanding economic cooperation with China, especially through increasing exports of wine and other agro-food products. The head of state also welcomed the recent efforts that facilitated access to the Chinese market for Moldovan products such as grape seed and sunflower flour.
During the meeting, President Maia Sandu Moldova's strong commitment to contributing to European security and the international order based on rules and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter. At the same time, the head of state repeatedly condemned Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, emphasizing the imperative of unconditional respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
