Moldovan Prime Minister attended conference on education
The future of schooling in a digitized world and the impact of artificial intelligence on education were among the main topics at one of the key events of Education Week – the conference Dialogues for the Future: Education between Algorithm and Humanity.
In the opening of the conference, Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized that integrating new digital solutions and keeping up with modern trends in education are essential to meet the current realities and the continuously changing needs of children and adolescents.
The official also referred to the impact of digital technologies on the emotional and cognitive development of children, drawing attention to the risks associated with misinformation and online bullying, as well as the opportunities to stimulate curiosity and authentic learning.
"I am convinced that this generation will manage in ways we do not yet know or even imagine. Because they have the freedom of thought and creativity to find the optimal path. The best thing we can do is to stand by them on this path of searching, to be their benchmark. To demonstrate through actions that empathy, cooperation, freedom of thought, and the courage of seeking have immense power," said the Prime Minister.
In this context, he expressed gratitude to all teachers and education specialists for their efforts in improving the schools. "The fact that we question the human mind, school, artificial intelligence, the needs of adolescents, and how to raise happy children means that the improvement of the educational act has already begun. These are complex questions without unique answers, and I am glad we are here together to find what is best for our children," added Recean.
The conference brought together teachers, researchers, psychologists, and education specialists who addressed topics such as educational content and teaching methods in the digital age, digital ethics and students' mental health.
Education Week is organized for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. It includes events dedicated to the most important initiatives in the education, involving all actors in the educational system – teachers, pupils, parents, students and representatives of authorities.
