Moldovan wrestlers win bronze at European U20 Wrestling Championship
Moldovan wrestlers Ion Bulgaru and Maxim Dimov have won bronze medals at the European U20 Wrestling Championship, held in Italy.
Ion Bulgaru, competing at the 57 kg category, stepped onto the podium after defeating Sasha Petrosyan (Armenia), Orest Petraniuk (Ukraine), and Karoly Barath (Hungary). The gold medal was claimed by Azerbaijani Vasif Baghirov, while the silver went to Georgian Nika Zangaladze.
At the 65 kg category, Maxim Dimov had an excellent run, managing to surpass four opponents: Lukas Brandl (Czech Republic), Jakub Kesy (Poland), Janar Lips (Estonia), and Lazare Gujaraidze (Georgia), thus earning the bronze medal.
The competition continues, and today, in the repechage, Gabriel Ojog at the 74 kg category is set to face Estonian Nikolai Tarassov.
