Prime Minister at Three Seas Initiative Summit: Moldova ready to contribute to stability and resilience of entire region
Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu participated in the 11th Three Seas Initiative Summit, held in Croatia. The event is organized annually to promote economic development, increase cohesion at the European level and strengthen transatlantic ties.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that in the current geopolitical context, infrastructure and investments are no longer just economic priorities, but essential pillars of regional security, stability, and resilience.
"For the Republic of Moldova, the Three Seas Initiative is not just a platform for dialogue. It is a results-oriented platform, in which connectivity becomes security and investments become resilience," said Munteanu.
The official spoke about the consequences felt by the Republic of Moldova as a result of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, mentioning the unprecedented energy crisis, environmental risks, as well as hybrid pressures on institutions and citizens: "These are not abstract threats. They are daily realities for our people."
In this context, the Prime Minister underlined that the active participation of the Republic of Moldova in the Three Seas Initiative is essential for strengthening energy security, developing critical infrastructure, and attracting investments into the national economy.
At the same time, our country can contribute to strengthening regional resilience and connectivity through concrete projects in the energy sector, including electricity interconnections with Romania and Ukraine, large-scale energy storage, and the enhancement of energy system balancing capacities.
"These are investments that strengthen not only our country, but the entire Black Sea region. The Republic of Moldova is ready to do more – to be an active part of strategic projects and to contribute to stability where it is most needed," the Prime Minister declared.
The Three Seas Initiative Summit took place on 28–29 April 2026 in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and brought together political leaders, government officials, investors, and business representatives from over 45 countries.
