VIDEO // Moldovan government proposes new law due to give citizens more rights in decision‑making process

The government is proposing a new law that will give citizens more rights in the decision‑making process. Citizens are encouraged to consult the draft and submit their opinions on it.

Secretary General of the Government Alexei Buzu has said that the new law would  give citizens more rights when the government, parliament and local public authorities adopt important decisions.

"When important decisions are adopted, they end up influencing the lives of each of us. That is why, it is necessary for people to be consulted and heard in this process," said Alexei Buzu.

The official emphasized that, through this initiative, the government would become more open, more transparent and always close to citizens when approving important decisions.

"Each week, the government approves important decisions that affect citizens’ lives. That is why, we are coming to the government with a new law that will give citizens more rights when the government, parliament and local public authorities adopt important decisions. We encourage you to review this draft law; we want to make sure that it meets the expectations of our citizens. We want to ensure that the government becomes more open, more transparent and always close to citizens when it approves important decisions," noted Alexei Buzu.
