Saskia de Vries concludes activity within Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission
Saskia de Vries will conclude activity within the Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission starting from 1 May 2026. The resignation request has been submitted to Parliament.
She expressed her appreciation for the cooperation within the Commission and wished the Republic of Moldova success in completing the external evaluation process.
“It has been an honor and an interesting experience. In the context of personal circumstances, I have decided to conclude my mandate within the Commission,” said Saskia de Vries.
In order to ensure continuity and the proper conduct of the evaluation process, until her withdrawal the international member will finalize the cases for which she was appointed as rapporteur. In addition, the Commission has agreed on an internal mechanism for organizing its activity, designed to prevent any impact on ongoing evaluations.
Saskia de Vries was appointed by Parliament as a member of the Prosecutors’ Evaluation Commission in October 2023. She is a retired senior prosecutor from the Netherlands. Throughout her career in the prosecution service, Saskia de Vries coordinated for more than 20 years cases related to organized crime and corruption.
